Louis Poulsen
PH 80 FLOOR with 3 white shades in white opal acrylic, a top in black with red underside and silver colored stand/foot.
This PH pendant has 4 screens instead of the traditional 3 screens. This gives a greater spread of light out to the sides of the room, where the original PH lamps direct the light more downwards.
PH lamp numbers usually refer to the diameter of the top screen. However, this is not the case with PH 80 floor. The lamp was put into production after PH’s death to mark his 80th birthday in 1974.
The name PH 80 floor has nothing to do with the size, but is an anniversary edition.
The original PH ceiling lamp has 3 layers of hand-blown white opal glass and is also available in different sizes, in addition to a number of versions with other colors of glass lampshades – and indeed, if not also the socket housing itself is available in several different colors. PH 5 in particular is known and loved .
In other words, there is a PH lamp that suits everyone, whether it is small or large, with a frame in brass or chrome, or with lampshades in glass or metal .
The material of the PH 80 floor lamp is opal acrylic, and the underside of the upper shade is red to give the light warmth and atmosphere.
The PH 80 has a frame in highly polished steel and is supplied with a black cord of 2.6 metres. The lamp is 131.50 cm wide and 55 cm in diameter.
The optimal light source is 70W E27 .
The architect Poul Henningsen has had an enormous influence on Danish design, and it is not least his Kogle lamp and the well-known PH5 lamp here that made him famous.
